Matthew's

Matthew's was a project where I designed the logo for my own restaurant in the style of an influential dutch graphic designer. I had the opportunity to model my design after that of the work of Karel Martens. A pioneer in the field of printed graphic design and unique by the way he would layer materials to creat unique patterns and colors.

I really liked his use of color so I took that into my idea and layered my letters with a lower opacity to recreate the mix of colors he would get when the different colors of ink fused into something new.

Start with Art

Start with art is one of the first websites I have ever developed specifically for mobile. The premise of the task was to create a site that motivated international students to explore the city of Amsterdam without the use of google maps or trip advisor.

I decided to make a site that showcased the Amsterdam streetart scene to students in person by taking them on different routes troughout the city centre and surroundings. This way they get to experience a realer side of Amsterdam than any museum or tourist trap could.
